I have always been a lover of beautiful things! I especially love to travel to places filled with beauty. I never get bored at looking at the ocean, or being in a plane and looking at the clouds forming in their fluffy little way. I love standing on a mountain top taking in the spectacular view, hearing the roar of a waterfall, walking through the woods. Seeing the sunlight illuminate the trees making them look even more majestic. Looking at the flowers in full bloom with their vibrant colors, making the world a brighter place. I even love staring at the stars in the sky at night.
Beauty is just one of those things that I never tire of.
Isaiah 40:26 says, Look at the myriad of stars and constellations above you.
Who set them to burning, each in its place? Who knows those countless lights each by name? They obediently shine, each in its place, because God has the great strength and strong power to make it so.
What truly amazes me about beauty is that it was created for a purpose. When God created the heavens and the earth, he had us in mind. I can’t help but find myself in awe when I see all the beauty that he created for us. What makes it even more wonderful is that he created it because he loves us so much and wants us to enjoy it. It makes me feel so valued by Him and humbled that the Creator of all things would go to so much detail for the purpose of winning the hearts of the ones He loves.
Yes, when I see beauty I am reminded of His love for me. He went to such lengths to create beauty with such intricacy to speak to us of how much more He would do to take care of us. Every day the sun rises and sets it speaks of His faithfulness.
Hosea 6 says, As sure as dawn breaks, so sure is His daily arrival.
Even the rain speaks of His goodness to us.
In Hosea 6 it continues on and says, He comes as rain comes, as spring rain refreshing the ground.”
He refreshes us in our times of dryness.
He even speaks to us through the beauty of a meadow surrounded by quiet waters.
Psalms 23 says, God, my shepherd! I don’t need a thing. You have bedded me down in lush meadows, you find me quiet pools to drink from. True to your word, you let me catch my breath and send me in the right direction.
The rainbow that appears in the sky speaks of His covenant of love, forgiveness and grace toward us.
He does not hold our sins against us. We are forgiven because of the blood He shed for us.
Isaiah 54:9-10 says, “Just as I swore in the time of Noah that I would never again let a flood cover the earth, so now I swear that I will never again be angry and punish you. For the mountains may move and the hills disappear,
but even then my faithful love for you will remain. My covenant of blessing will never be broken,” says the Lord, who has mercy on you.
Psalms 136 says, The God whose skill formed the cosmos, His love never quits. The God who laid out earth on ocean foundations, His love never quits. The God who filled the skies with light, His love never quits. The sun to watch over the day, His love never quits. Moon and stars as guardians of the night, His love never quits.
My prayer is that every time you see beauty around you that you are gently reminded of how much God truly loves you and wants to take care of you! Before I go I would like to leave you with some pictures of beautiful places. This is just a glimpse of the beauty of our Creator. All of the beauty you see has been created for you and me. May you experience God’s love in a greater measure than you ever have before!
