Love!! I don’t think that there is one person on this planet that doesn’t want to be loved. You see it even from the moment a baby is born. They want to be held and comforted. Even, as one grows up there is the desire. Desiring to be loved by your parents and knowing that they are proud of you is important to everyone. Even, the desire to know that your friends and people care about you is a sign of a need for love. Then of course, the most obvious one is when a man and woman fall in love and there is the desire to have a life long companion.

The fact is, that we all were made with a desire for love whether we would admit it or not. It’s a real issue in the world today. You see it when a child is neglected by their parents because their parents are caught up in their own issues. Or they are shunned by parents who want nothing to do with them. These kids grow up feeling unwanted, not valued and unloved. This results in them looking for any form of acceptance so that they can feel the love that they were never given. In severe cases, some will even give themselves to things that only bring more pain in their lives in order to fill the void of love that they so long for.

We have all experienced at different times where we have felt unloved, unwanted and unvalued. The question is where can we find a love that never stops. A love that fills the need of being acceptable, wanted and valued. We find it by asking what is the definition of love?

1 Corinthians 13 says,

So, no matter what I say, what I believe, and what I do, I’m bankrupt without love.

Love never gives up.

Love cares more for others than for self.

Love doesn’t want what it doesn’t have.

Love doesn’t strut,

Doesn’t have a swelled head,

Doesn’t force itself on others,

Isn’t always “me first,”

Doesn’t fly off the handle,

Doesn’t keep score of the sins of others,

Doesn’t revel when others grovel,

Takes pleasure in the flowering of truth,

Puts up with anything,

Trusts God always,

Always looks for the best,

Never looks back,

But keeps going to the end.

 Love never dies.

So where can we find a love like this? 1 John 4 says, God is love. When we take up permanent residence in a life of love, we live in God and God lives in us.

God is love and we can rest in His love for us!!!

Psalms 36 says, God’s love is meteoric,
 his loyalty astronomic,
his purpose titanic,
 his verdicts oceanic.
Yet in his largeness
 nothing gets lost;
Not a man, not a mouse,
 slips through the cracks.

For every time that you have felt unwanted, unvalued and unloved let Him who is love come in and heal you. You are valuable to Him, you are wanted by Him and You Are Loved By Him!! His Love for you will never run out!! His Love is not conditional and based on what you do or do not do. His Love is unconditional and He wants to lavish it all on you!!

I have spent most of my life in awe of the love of God and how wonderful He truly is. I know that I will spend the rest of my life amazed that He could love me the way that He does. My prayer for you today is that the love of God would saturate you in every area of your life. That you will experience how valued you are by Him and how much he wants to be in a love relationship with you. That you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that You Are Loved!!
