Do you ever get tired of being tired and feeling low? I mean some days I get up and have the temptation to be upset. For example, I have been doing this certain diet for awhile now. This is the type of diet where I am held accountable. I have to get weighed once week at a doctor’s office to see how much progress I have made in losing weight. There have been times while on this diet I know I’ve been doing the best I can. I have been trying to eat everything according to the diet plan. And I think oh I should have lost 2-3 pounds at least this week. And then…I get on the scale and it’s says that I lost 2 ounces of a pound. Or you’ve gained 8 ounces. And I’m thinking WHAT!?! HOW RUDE!!! Will this diet ever end? Then I feel like “let’s just forget this diet and go eat pizza.” Followed by eating a bunch of ice cream slathered in chocolate magic shell. You know the stuff that hardens on ice cream and is especially amazing on Ben and Jerry’s Beloved Flavor Half Baked? Yeah that sounds like a great idea.
Well you may not feel that way about a diet. But what about when your in a circumstance that rubs you the wrong way? And it seems like this circumstance has been there forever. You start to wonder if there really is a light at the end of the tunnel. You have been doing everything right, even going the extra mile to make sure of it. And yet these circumstances just….won’t….budge!!!!
Yes I’ve been there. I am even in a season right now where circumstances want to loom up before me. These circumstances demand my attention. Along with the goal of stealing my time, my peace, my sleep, and yes even my joy. But God has been teaching me that circumstances don’t have to dictate to you as to whether or not you can enjoy your life and have fun.
In fact, God wants you to enjoy your life regardless of your circumstances. If the enemy has to do is remind us of the circumstance that we are facing, and that causes us to be overwhelmed and immobilizes us then he will do that every single time. But we don’t have to let him because we have God on our side. He sees the end from the beginning. What’s cool about God is that he left us some hints in the Bible of how He wants us to handle different circumstances. Let me give you just an example of one.
In Psalms 37:12-15 it says, “The wicked plot against the godly; they snarl at them in defiance. But the Lord just laughs, for he sees their day of judgment coming. The wicked draw their swords and string their bows to kill the poor and the oppressed, to slaughter those who do right. But their swords will stab their own hearts, and their bows will be broken.”
I don’t know about you but knowing that God sees the wicked and just laughs at them makes me feel more secure. Because He makes it’s obvious that He knows the enemy’s time is short and the enemy will be defeated. As the scripture says greater is He that is in us then he that is in the world. That’s some good news right there. God is on our side and He ALWAYS WINS!!
In 2 Corinthians 2 it says, I am grateful that God always makes it possible for Christ to lead us to victory. You can be happy and know that with Jesus you will always be the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath.
Well, before I go I thought that I would share some funny photos with you. Because, sometimes we just need to have a flat out, good, hearty, laugh. I must warn you though. Many of these pictures are of animals. And if there is one thing you must know about me…you must know that I Love Animals. Especially, cute and funny ones with a bit of personality that make me laugh. I hope that these pictures of them will make you laugh too. Enjoy!
